Biography:
Jason Williams is a business development and account management professional with nearly two decades of experience in African mobile VAS and digital content. His career has been built working with mobile network operators and digital service providers across Sub-Saharan Africa.
Currently serving as Commercial Manager Africa at Avatar World Group (March 2022–present), Jason manages commercial operations and account relationships with MNO customers across the region, covering campaign planning and execution, settlement reconciliation, revenue reporting, and new business development. Prior to this, he was Business Development Manager at Vuclip South Africa (2020–2022), managing business operations across eight products in five countries.
Earlier roles include Sales Account Manager at Digitata Group, Product Operations Manager at Huawei South Africa (where he played a key role in the launch of MTN Music+ and the management of the CallerTunez product), and six years at OnMobile Global Ltd where he rose to Manager: Content Operations and developed industry-adopted conflict-resolution guidelines for the African content market.
Having spent his entire career managing premium-rated services, operator billing environments, campaign compliance, and MNO commercial relationships, Jason brings direct, practical experience of the ecosystem WASPA exists to regulate. He holds a BBA from Regenesys Business School and is committed to contributing to industry standards and consumer protection as a WASPA board member.
