Anzelle Robertson is the Programme Director for Direct Carrier Billing (DCB), Mobile Content, and Digital Advertising at the Mobile Ecosystem Forum (MEF). She is an Attorney of the High Court of the Republic of South Africa and has extensive experience in business development, regulatory affairs, and compliance within the telecommunications sector.
Anzelle’s career in telecoms began in 2012 as a Legal and Compliance Officer for Oxygen8 Communications in Johannesburg, where she later transitioned to the role of Product Marketing Manager for Premium and Subscription Services. In 2016, she joined Sam Media as the Business Development Director for Africa, based in Amsterdam, focusing on fostering relationships with carriers and payment gateways across the continent.
Throughout her career, Anzelle has been a strong advocate for Direct Carrier Billing as a preferred payment method for digital content. She has served on the board of the Wireless Application Service Providers’ Association (WASPA), the South African regulatory body for value-added services and mobile payments, and remains actively involved in various industry organizations and regulatory bodies.
In her role at MEF, which she assumed in April 2024, Anzelle supports members and stakeholders—including mobile network operators, regulators, merchants, and payment gateways—in advancing and safeguarding the industry. She also leads MEF’s strategic direction and delivery of the annual Global Carrier Billing and Mobile Payments Summit. In addition to her role at MEF, Anzelle regularly consults as DCB and Mobile Payments Growth, Business Development, Contracts and Compliance Specialist to a range of service providers across the ecosystem.
