Child Protection Week (Voice of Cape Town Radio Interview)
Section 28 of the Bill of Rights in our Constitution states that “every child has the right to basic nutrition, shelter, health care and social services, as well as the right to be protected from maltreatment, neglect, abuse or degradation”. This right to protection is fundamental and extends to today’s digital and mobile environments. Whenever children are online, they are at risk from various threats. Parents, guardians, educators and children should be made aware of the emerging risks to become better equipped and confident in protecting themselves.
Goolam and Lukmam, the presenters of the ‘Breakfast Beats’ radio show on the Voice of Cape Town, interview WASPA’s Managing Executive, Ilonka Badenhorst, about the importance of keeping our children safe online.
